A Passenger With No Flying Experience Landed Plane After Pilot Fainted

FLORIDA, KOMPAS.COM – A passenger without flying experience landing a plane in Florida after its pilots experience a situation emergency medical mid-flight.
Reported from BBC on Thursday (12/5/2022), in live audio from calls made to air traffic control at Fort Pierce The unidentified passenger tower sounded warning: I facing a serious situation here.
My pilot is becoming incoherent, the man said over the radio from about 2,750 meters in the air. He passed out, he added.

 

BATTING ON THE AIRCRAFT
Asked about his position, he replied: I dont know.
The mysterious man only said that he could see the beach Florida in front of him.
Maintain wing height and try to follow the coast, either to the north or south, the air traffic controller told him. We are trying to find you.
The passenger didnt even know how to turn on the screen in the cockpit: I cant even turn on my navigation screen, he told tower.
It (the screen in the cockpit) has all the information in it. You have any ideas about it?
I dont know how to stop the plane, he added. I dont know how to do anything.

PASSENGER, RETURN AIRCRAFT CANCELLED
Robert Morgan, air traffic controller at the International Airport Palm Beach, was taking a break when a colleague came over to warned him of the situation.
