BMW Burned at BIP Mall Basemen Bandung, Police: There was Gasoline Liquid Under Victim’s Car
BANDUNG, KOMPAS COM – A BMW car caught fire in the central basement shopping mall Bandung Indah Plaza (BIP), Jalan Merdeka Kota Bandung, Sunday (24/4/2022) night.
The fire incident was recorded by residents in a video. The video even went viral on social media.
Based on the video footage, it appears that residents are gathering outside the mall legendary in the city of Bandung. They watched the puff of smoke that out of the BIP basement.
Other footage also shows the condition of the car on fire and a puff of smoke that enveloped the basement.
GASOLINE SPILL ON THE FLOOR, MALL VISITORS PANIC
Head of Rescue Department of Fire and Disaster Management (Diskar PB) Bandung City John Erwin Indradi said the fire came from a car in the basement BIP.
According to the driver of the car, the owner checked the spots on the floor under his car with the help of matches.
It is known that the spot was a gasoline spill which then caused the fire, said John who was contacted on Sunday (25/4/2022).
Even so, the fire was successfully tamed by Mal security using a Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR).

There were no fatalities in the incident, but one driver named Arief Setiadi suffered burns on his hand.
Confirmed separately, Bandung Police Chief Wetan Kompol Asep Saepudin said, based on the victims statement, his car was in on state.
The victim wanted to go home, but was still looking for a parking ticket.
Then the victim looked down from the front, saw that there was liquid (flooded) the victim did not know the liquid was gasoline or water what is plain water, he said.
