JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The government is rumored to be removing employees honorary status in government agencies starting in 2023.
The policy is contained in Government Regulation (PP) Number 49 2018 concerning Management of Government Employees by Agreement PPPK Management Work or PP.
Article 96 states that government employees are prohibited from appointing non-PNS employees or honorary staff to fill positions as state civil apparatus (ASN).
Then the government is given the opportunity to solve the problem regarding honorary staff until 2023.
Then what is the fate of honorary workers who are in the current government? In this case, will he be appointed as a civil servant?

EXPLANATION OF THE RB MINISTRY
Acting Head of the Ministry of Law, Communication and Public Information Bureau Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) Mohammad Averrouce revealed that the status of temporary workers at government cannot be appointed as civil servants automatically.
There is no automatic appointment for honorary staff to become ASN, both PNS and PPPK, Averrouce was quoted as saying from Kompas.com , Tuesday (19/4/2022).
Referring to PP Number 49 of 2018 concerning Employee Management Government with a Work Agreement or PPK Management PP, in article 96 states that government employees are prohibited from hiring non-PNS employees or non-PPPK to fill positions as ASN or PNS.
