5 ABK Indonesia Survives Chuang Yi Tanker Explosion in Hong Kong

HONG KONG, KOMPAS.COM – A total of five crew members (ABK) from Indonesia survives Chuang Yi tanker incident which exploded in waters of Hong Kong, Saturday (16/4/2022).
The news was conveyed by the Director of Citizen Protection Indonesia and Indonesian Legal Entities (PWNI-BHI) Ministry of Foreign Affairs RI Judha Nugraha, in a written message received by Antara News on Sunday (17/4/2022).
The Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong also confirmed the five Indonesian crew members with the initials JA, AS, BS, MM, and RS survived. They are under treatment at Queens hospital Mary.

 

TRY TO RETURN
The information was obtained by the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong after coordinating with the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong Hong Kong maritime safety authority (The Hong Kong Maritime Rescue Coordination Center).
As for the entire crew of the Chuang Yi tanker explosion victims, they have been taken away to Queen Mary and Pamela Youde Hospital in Hong Kong.

Quoted from Antara on Monday (4/18/2022), the tanker Chuang Yi exploded and caught fire in waters 300 kilometers east of Hong Kong, Saturday (16/4/2022).
Chuang Yi is a Panamanian-flagged tanker that transports oil and chemicals.
When the explosion occurred, the Chuang Yi ship was sailing to Taiwan.
The Indonesian crew members suffered burns that varied from mild to quite heavy.

 

PAKISTAN
Then, the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong on Sunday (17/4/2022) had access to met four Indonesian crew members, namely JJ, BS, MM, and RS, while the US had not can be found because the condition is not stable.
