President Jokowi Accused of Wearing False Diplomas During Presidential Election, UGM Rector: He Passed in 1985
KOMPAS.COM – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was sued by Bambang Tri Mulyono to the Central Jakarta District Court (PN) with suspicions use of fake certificates.
The lawsuit is registered in case number 592/Pdt.G/2022/PN Jkt.Pst with the classification of cases against the law (PMH).
Bambang is not only suing Jokowi, but also the Election Commission General Assembly (KPU), Peoples Consultative Assembly (MPR), and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek).
In the second petition, the plaintiff requested that Jokowi be declared to have make false information and or provide false documents in the form of elementary, junior high, and high school diplomas in the name of Joko Widodo.

In the third petition, the plaintiff requested that Jokowi be declared committing an unlawful act (PMH) for submitting documents diploma containing incorrect information and/or providing documents fake, as a complete requirement of his candidacy to fulfill provisions of Article 9 Paragraph (1) letter r of KPU Regulation Number 22 of 2018, to be used in the Presidential and Vice-Presidential Election process period 2019-2024.
UGM Chancellors Statement
The Chancellor of Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Ova Emilia ensured that Jokowis original strata 1 (S1) diploma.
For the data and information that we have and are documented with OK, we believe in the authenticity of Jokowis Engineer S1 diploma and the person concerned is actually a graduate of the UGM forestry faculty, said Mr Ova in a press conference at UGM, Tuesday (11/10/2022).

He said, Jokowi is an alumni of the UGM Faculty of Forestry 1980.
Mr. Engineer Jokowi was declared graduated from UGM in 1985, according to provisions and proof of graduation based on the documents we have, Ova said.

The eldest son of Jokowi and the mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, also spoke about the lawsuit.
