114 Cases of Suspect Acute Hepatitis in East Java, Kadinkes: Be Alert, But Keep Calm – Surya.co.id
SURYA.CO.ID, SURABAYA – The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that Official Extraordinary Events (KLB) for cases of acute hepatitis that unknown etiology (cause) on April 15, 2022, the number of reports from various countries also continues to grow.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Early Alert and Response System (SKDR) East Java, week I of week 17 of 2022 (as of May 4, 2022), has found 114 cases of suspected acute hepatitis in 18 districts/cities in Indonesia East Java. In fact, in the 14th to the 17th week the number is tends to increase.
For the record, the SKDR data are cases of suspected hepatitis acute reported with general age (unspecified 16 year).
In response to this, the Head of the East Java Provincial Health Office (East Java Health Office), Dr. Dr. Erwin Astha Triyono SpPD KPTI appealed to the entire community of East Java, especially to children and parents to always apply clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) and health protocol in a disciplined manner.
To prevent and control the transmission of acute hepatitis that does not the cause is known in East Java, we urge the public to be more careful but remain calm, he said.
Implementation of prevention can be done with PHBS, as often wash hands with soap, drink clean boiled water, make sure food is clean and fully cooked, using cutlery yourself, wear a mask, keep your distance and avoid contact with sick person.
Besides, for the time being, dont swim in the pool first general, dont play on the playground and avoid touching your hands railings, door knobs, walls and others that are frequently touched people, pleaded doctor Erwin.
He explained that the clinical symptoms found in patients acute hepatitis, including elevated liver enzymes, hepatitis syndrome acute and gastrointestinal symptoms (abdominal pain, diarrhea and throws up).
