YOGYAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – Academic Senate Plenary Meeting for selection UGM Chancellor Candidates for 2022-2027 announced the three selected candidates, Thursday (12/5/2022). In a meeting chaired by the Chair of the Academic Senate Sulistiowati, accompanied by the Secretary of the Academic Senate Endy Suwondo, and the Chairperson of the Suratman Committee, at Grha Sabha Pramana, succeeded narrowing the six candidates to three UGM rector candidates 2022-2027.
The plenary meeting presented a team of panelists, namely the Secretary of the Assembly Trustee (MWA) Subagus Wahyuono, Chair of the Senate Academic Sulistiowati, Chair of the Board of Professors Mochammad Maksum, UGM Chancellor for the 2002-2007 period Sofian Effendi and UGM Chancellor for the period 2014-2017 Dwikorita Karnawati.
The three elected rector candidates are Bambang Agus Kironoto from the Faculty of Engineering, Deendarlianto from the Faculty of Engineering, and Ova Emilia from the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing.

The three of them set aside three other candidates for chancellor, namely, Ali Agus from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Sigit Riyanto from the Faculty of Law, and Teguh Budipitojo from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Before the selection of three UGM rector candidates for 2022-2027, all of them will be candidates The Chancellor is obliged to convey the work program, direction or purpose according to UGM general policies and strategies for achieving them in front of panelists and member of the UGM Academic Senate.
After the presentation process and question and answer with the panelists, then an assessment process is carried out by all members of the Academic Senate who present in person. Evaluation of UGM Chancellor candidates for the period 2022-2027 will be conducted digitally based on 5 criteria as regulated in Article 16 of MWA Regulation No. 3 of 2016.
The three selected rector candidates will later be submitted to the leadership of the MWA and the election and determination will be made on 20 May 2022, said Suratman, in a press release.
According to Suratman, in general the plenary meeting went smoothly starting with the drawing of a lottery by the prospective Chancellor of UGM, presentations, questions and answers and assessments by members of the Academic Senate.
