JAKARTA, KOMPAS TV – Member of Commission VI DPR RI Deddy Yevri Hanteru Sitorus questions the work of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto after President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) banned oil exports crude palm oil and cooking oil products starting on 28 April 2022.
According to him, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and the relevant ministers should have others provide an explanation of the current steps carried out by the government as a follow-up after the entry into force the policy.
Where are the Coordinating Ministers, the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Trade, where are they? technical executor who must be responsible, said Deddy to journalists, Tuesday (26/4/2022).
The PDIP politician urged Coordinating Minister Airlangga to immediately provide explanation to the public about the future of the palm oil industry in Indonesia, so as not to make noise in the field.
Small farmers want to know how long they will be sacrificed by this policy. Likewise, other players in the palm oil industry are good medium, medium or large, he said.
Based on the reports he received, this obscurity was very harmful. Because at this time, the palm fruit produced by farmers is starting to be rejected by palm oil mills (PKS) due to limited capacity shelter.
Farmers are also overwhelmed by the selling price of fresh fruit bunches or Palm FFB which fell sharply, so it was not able to cover costs their production.
Meanwhile, for large entrepreneurs whose businesses are integrated from plantations, PKS, cooking oil factories to distribution do not experience significant loss. Im worried because the farmers have started scream, if prices continue to fall then their ability to buy fertilizer is also lost.
If that happens, it can be ascertained that the palm oil productivity of farmers will drop dramatically next year, because palm oil is very sensitive to fertilization, he said.
