Ban on Hijab Use of Muslims a Highlight in French Presidential Election Campaign

PERTUIS, KOMPAS.TV Prohibition of wearing hijab or hijab for women Muslims are in the spotlight in the French presidential candidate campaign, Friday (15/4/2022).
Right-wing presidential candidate, Marine Le Pen, called for urging a ban on its use in Muslim-populated countries largest in western Europe.
Meanwhile, his rival, incumbent Emmanuel Macron, has not banned clothes religious. However, during his reign, a number of mosques and Islamic groups have closed their operations.
Both Le Pen and Macron are facing stiff competition On April 24, the women who wear headscarves will be confronted.
They question why their clothing choices are dragged along in politics. Many Muslims feel that the presidential election campaign has unfairly stigmatize their beliefs.

In his campaign at a farmers market in the southern city of Pertuis France, a veiled woman came to Le Pen who was Say hello to his supporters.
What does the hijab do in politics? asked the woman, quoted from Associated Press , Saturday (16/4).
Defending his stance, Le Pen responded by referring to the hijab as a uniform worn from time to time by people who have a radical view of Islam.
Thats not true, said the woman.
