Subsidized by Government, Bulk Cooking Oil Price Is Translucent Rp28.000 Per Kilogram

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The governments policy is to provide oil prices Fried foods that are affordable to the public seem to be back dead end. For example, in the city of Bandung, Java, West Rp.26,500 per kg, Cilacap Regency, Central Java, Rp.23,250 per kg, Malang City East Java IDR 24,000 per kg, Bima City NTB IDR 23,300 per kg, Kotabaru Regency in South Kalimantan IDR 26,000 per kg, Gorontalo City IDR 28,150 per kg, and Palu City in Central Sulawesi IDR 25,850 per kg.
In fact, in the past, the supply of bulk cooking oil was abundant and the price was low under IDR 20,000 per kg. That is when the government sets the Retail Price Highest (HET) IDR 14,000 for simple packaged cooking oil and premium.
23 MILLION KPM
The cause is still the same. There are rogue manufacturers and distributors who outsmart government policies for personal gain.
One of the practices is the one recently revealed by the Ministry Industry with the National Police Food Task Force, in the Cipete area, Jakarta South, Thursday (14/4) yesterday.
It was found that there were irregularities in the distribution of subsidized bulk cooking oil by distributor 1 (D1) appointed by the manufacturer, said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang told reporters, after conducting a surprise inspection at the Market Cipete.
During the inspection, the Ministry of Industry found as many as 700 jerry cans capacity of five liters, which is ready to be sold to consumers.
Such action is contrary to the Regulation of the Minister of Industry (Permenperin) Number 8 of 2022 concerning the Provision of Cooking Oil Bulk for Community Needs, Micro Enterprises, and Small Businesses in Financing Framework by the Fund Management Agency for Palm Oil Plantations.
